A Ware County, Ga., jury convicted a Waycross man Friday of murder and other charges in the shooting death of a drug dealer in what investigators believe began as robbery, the Ware County District Attorney’s Office said.

The jury deliberated about 1 1/2 hours before finding Steven “Little Steve” Jamel Jones, 22, guilty of two counts of murder, three counts of aggravated assault and two firearms charges in the June 16, 2012, death of Quincey Denton, 41, Assistant District Attorney George Barnhill said.

Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Kight sentenced Jones to life on each of the murder charges, 20 years each on the aggravated assault charges and five years each on the two convictions for possessing a firearm in the commission of a felony.
