Patterson police led on foot chase after traffic stop

A traffic stop on Patterson’s west side Friday night resulted in a foot chase and a drug arrest.

Everett Jernigan, 45, of Patterson, has been charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and felony obstruction of officers in connection with the case.

According to Patterson Police Chief Jason Strickland, Officers Danny Bohannon and Clint Hendrix were on patrol on U.S. Highway 84 at about 11:11 p.m. Friday night.

The officers observed a Grand Prix with no tag lights and stopped the vehicle near U.S. Highway 84’s intersection with Son Thomas Road.

The vehicle was driven by Tamika Marketia Booth, 33. Booth was cited for driving with a suspended license and violation of tag light requirements.

Jernigan and Marcos Lopez, Felicia Doomes and Jennifer Wilson were all passengers in the vehicle.
