Some observant citizens helped Sheriff Richard Foskey put a stop to a flow of contraband coming into the Bacon County Jail.
The lawman said jail officers confiscated a large stash of contraband last week after passersby reported seeing someone on the roof of the jail. A quick check of the roof revealed a hole, which extended through the roof and into the cells below.
A total of eight packages of cell phones, cigarette tobacco, and marijuana were found in the ceiling area of the cells.
