Special to SEGAZINE
State Rep. Dusty Hightower’s “Georgia Student Religious Liberties Act of 2014” is working its way through the process to passage in the Georgia House of Representatives.
The bill, HB 861, aims to “put faith back in our schools.”
“Oftentimes we are faced with making decisions that test our faith,” said Hightower, R-Carrollton, in a press release. “Our founding fathers knew the importance of faith, and they did all they could to protect our freedom to worship and pray as we each see fit. However, throughout the years, it is my opinion that their intent has been lost.”
