Coffee head coach Whit Moorman commented, “The boys played well again. It is good to have such a good start to the year, but we now have to guard against over confidence as we start region play. Brantley is a good team, and Coach Thrift really prepares them well.”
The Lady Trojans also cruised to a 5-0 win, with singles players Hannah Greene winning 6-0, 6-0, Lee Williams winning 6-2, 6-2, and Holly Vaughn taking her match 6-4, 6-2. The Lady Trojans are now 5-1 this season.
“This was a good win for the girls,” said Moorman. Brantley’s girls were an Elite 8 team last year in 3-A and have a better team this year. We are in good shape as we begin region play.”
