Lt. Nick Roundtree had investigated the tip that led to child molestation charges against a middle school band director
A city police officer has resigned and is under investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, officials said.
At the onset of the investigation, Darien police Lt. Nick Roundtree resigned, City Manager Brett Cook said.
“He’s no longer employed with the city of Darien,’’ Cook said.
The city asked the GBI to conduct the investigation, Cook said, while declining to divulge its object.
“There’s an ongoing investigation by the GBI. The city of Darien is cooperating,’’ he said.
