Bill easing HOPE grant standard clears Georgia House

The Georgia House of Representatives essentially admitted Thursday that cost-cutting reforms to the lottery-funded HOPE Scholarships program two years ago went too far.

The House overwhelmingly approved legislation restoring the eligibility standard for HOPE grants to technical college students to a 2.0 grade point average.
