A suspicious package delivered to the Homerville Post Office ended up being five pounds of marijuana.According to Homerville Police Chief Mark Register, post office officials reported a suspicious package to law enforcement on Wednesday, April 10. The K-9 unit was brought in, and the dog “hit” on the suspicious package several times, according to Register.The recipient of the package, Shan Franklin, 38, of a West Forrest Avenue address in Homerville, then picked up the package and was detained. Register said that after Franklin authorized the opening of the package, authorities found five pounds of marijuana packed with a computer tower. Franklin was charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute in a drug-free zone, and may also be facing charges from the USPS, according to Register.Register said Homerville Police also received information about another suspicious package recently, but werent able to intercept it.Franklin was still in the Clinch County Jail as of Monday, Register said.
