Jesup will seek old state site as new agriculture market

Special to SEGAZINE

The Jesup City Council unanimously approved the beginning steps to determine whether a regional farmers’ market can be established in Wayne County.

Commissioner Nick Harris told the Council Tuesday night that he has spent several months doing background work to determine the potential for an agriculture market to go in the site of the old state farmers’ market on North First Street. Harris said his initial contacts with representatives of the Georgia Department of Agriculture had been very encouraging.
