Blackman charged with possession on school grounds

Gary Jonathan Blackman, 39, was arrested last week and charged with DUI, open container and possession of alcoholic beverages on public school grounds after deputies observed Blackman passed out in his vehicle in the driveway of the Brantley County Middle School. When Blackman saw deputies approaching the vehicle he tried to pull away, but was stopped. He had an open bottle of beer in the vehicle and several left in a box in the rear passenger’s side floorboard.

Kenneth Brian Drayton (42) was arrested and charged with DUI and Disorderly Conduct after deputies were called to the area of the 2100 block of Riverside Road to an accident. Drayton had rammed the van driven by the victim after the two became involved in an argument.

Deputies responded to the area of the 3500 block of Blue Jay Road in reference to Criminal Trespass. The complainant stated she and a friend heard a loud crashing noise outside and went to investigate and found the rear window of her vehicle had been broken and a small framed white male running from the scene.

Deputies responded to the area of the 100 block of Oleander Circle in reference to Burglary. The complainant stated the offender had entered his residence and had taken items from his residence and then left in a red Toyota truck.

Deputies responded to the area of Ball Field Road in reference to Reckless Conduct. The complainant stated several persons at the park had been struck with pellets from a shotgun from someone shooting through the woods. No one was injured and no one saw who was shooting the weapon.

Deputies responded to the area of Crews Trailer Park in Hoboken in reference to Theft by Taking. The complainant stated a former tenant had been evicted and had taken the dining room table and chairs from the residence.

Deputies responded to the area of McIntosh Trail in reference to Harassing Phone calls. The complainant stated the offender was sending them unwanted threatening text messages.

Carl Sprinkle (24) was issued a citation for knowingly Making False Statements Pertaining to Motor Vehicle Registration when he was stopped on Hwy #520 near Caney Bay Road for a headlight violation.  Sprinkle stated he had paid his insurance and it was current but when deputies ran the vehicle’s tag it came back as having no insurance.

Deputies responded to the area of First Avenue in reference to Battery. The complainant stated the offender struck him in the face with his fist.

Amanda Marie Clark (33) was arrested and charged with DUI, Failure to Report Striking a Fixed Object and Weaving over the Roadway after she was stopped for weaving on the roadway on Knox Street near Ky Ody Trail. It was found that she was under the influence of alcohol and she had struck a mailbox on the side of the roadway.

Deputies responded to the area of the 100 block of Rattler Run in reference to Theft by Taking. The complainant stated the offenders had been living with him and he had noticed that his coin collection had been taken, along with two handguns and two shotguns.

Ray James Lee (54) was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct after deputies were called to the area of McIntosh Trail in reference to threats. Lee was repeatedly sending text messages to the victim/complainant wanting sexual favors from the victim/complainant’s girlfriend.

Paul Michael Mitchell (27) was arrested and charged with Window Tint Violation, Making False Statements Pertaining to Motor Vehicle Registration and Driving with No Insurance after deputies stopped on Hwy #520 near Bazley Road for a window tint violation. It was found that there was no insurance on the Hyundai Sonata driven by Mitchell.

Deputies responded to the area of the 3500 block of Blue Jay Road in reference to Burglary. The complainant stated some unknown had taken $45 from her residence.

Deputies responded to the area of the 12000 block of Hwy #110 in reference to a possible overdose. The victim was transported to the emergency room in Brunswick for treatment.

Amy Victoria Lee (26), driving a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier, was turning left onto Railroad Street and struck the 2002 Chevrolet 3500 truck and gooseneck trailer driven by Jeremy Delane West (22) causing damage to both the truck and trailer.

Deputies responded to the area of the 100 block of Coffee County Club Road in reference to Theft by Taking. The complainant stated some unknown person(s) had taken his Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle and his grill from his residence.

Deputies responded 422 Saddle Club Road in reference to a House Fire. Upon their arrival the residence was fully engulfed. A camper was also lost in the fire, which was parked near the residence.

Deputies responded to the area of the 6700 block of Petty Crossing Road in reference to an Affray. The two had become involved in a physical altercation over one subject accusing the other of stealing money.

Deputies responded to the area of the 100 block of Bradley Lane in reference to a Burglary. The complainant stated some unknown entered their residence by kicking in the front door and took several items from the residence.

Deputies responded to the area of the 2400 block of Old Waynesville Road in reference to a Burglary. The complainant stated some unknown person(s) had entered the Waynesville Volunteer Fire Department and had taken a battery jump box.

Deputies responded to the area of the 200 block of Cherokee Trail in reference to Theft by Taking. The complainant stated the offender had moved out of the residence and had taken three televisions, a swimming pool and a bed.

Deputies were dispatched to the Brantley County Sheriff’s Office in reference to meeting a complainant in reference to Financial Identity Fraud. The complainant stated some unknown person had gained her financial identity information and had been sending themselves money through Western Union.

Deputies responded to the area of Popwell’s Grocery on Hwy #32 in reference to Theft by Taking.  The complainant stated she had given the offender a ride to Popwell’s Store and when she returned home she had found that $100 was missing from her wallet.

Deputies responded to the area of Crack Corn Lane in reference to Criminal Trespass. The complainant stated a truck was stuck in a wet area on his property and when the owner of the vehicle used his tractor to get the truck out the person struck his ATV with the tractor causing damage to the right side fender of the ATV.

Deputies responded to the area of the 200 block of 1st Avenue in reference to Simple Battery. The complainant stated the offender had come to repossess a vehicle and they had words and the offender struck him in the mouth.

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy #301 South in reference to a Burglary. The complainant stated some unknown person(s) had entered the Nahunta Elementary School, but nothing was reported missing at this time.
