Brantley man robbed, left beside road

The Brantley County Sheriff’s Office investigated a theft last week in which a Nahunta man was robbed of $140 then left on the side of the road just inside the Brantley County line.

The complainant said he was offered a ride from Jesup by two individuals and when they entered Brantley County, on U.S. Highway 301 they asked for gas money.

But when told them he had money for gas, they pulled him from the car, took $140 and left him on the side of the road.

The complainant walked to his brother’s house and called 911.

Sonja Bullard (30) was backing up on Tyson Road and was unaware of a mailbox behind her vehicle. She struck the mailbox with her 2012 Toyota Sienna causing damage to the rear door of the van.

Deputies located a small marijuana plant growing in the wood line near the intersection of Mineral Springs Road and Depot Road. No suspect was indicated in the case.

Deputies responded to the area of the 500 block of Auction Road in reference to Criminal Trespass. The complainant stated his neighbor was crossing his property without permission.

Deputies responded to the area of the 200 block of Little Dusty Trail in reference to a Fraud Scheme. The complainant stated they received a check in the mail with instructions on how to cash the check and distribute the money.

Deputies responded to the area of the 2200 block of Dewey Hickox Road in reference to a Burglary. The complainant stated someone had taken an Xbox and Modern Warfare III game from his residence.

Deputies responded to the area of the 2600 block of Hwy #32 West in reference to a Burglary. The complainant stated some unknown person had attempted to pry their door of their residence open.

Deputies responded to the area of the 21000 block of Raybon Road East in reference to a Burglary. The complainant stated some unknown person(s) had stolen two window air conditioning units from their residence.

Deputies responded to the area of Stephen Park Road in reference to a Burglary. The complainant stated the offender had stolen a Snap-on Drill, a reciprocating saw, tires and rims, a dvd player and various dvd’s from their residence.

Deputies responded to the area of the 200 block of Allen Road in reference to Burglary/Theft by Taking. The complainant stated some unknown person(s) had entered their residence and had taken their prescription medications, a 73 inch television and speakers.

Deputies responded to the area of Marion Drive in reference to Disorderly Conduct and Terroristic Threats. The complainant stated his neighbor’s dog had come onto his property and he went to confront him about the situation and the neighbors brandished a firearm and threatened to harm him. The neighbors stated the complainant came to their property threatening to harm them and their dog.

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy #110 West and Dogwood Trail in reference to Criminal Trespass. The complainant stated some unknown person(s) had been damaging locks and chains on the gates of their hunting club.
