The state board that oversees the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) has approved Commissioner Ron Jackson’s recommendation of Dr. Glenn Deibert to be president of the new consolidated college resulting from the merger of Altamaha Technical College (ATC) and Okefenokee Technical College (OTC).
Deibert was appointed to serve as interim president of Okefenokee Technical College in March 2012, and eight months later in November 2012, the state board appointed him the fourth president of OTC. Prior to accepting the OTC presidency, Deibert served as the Executive Vice Chancellor of the Alabama Community College System.
His career includes 20 years with the Technical College System of Georgia. He served as president of two technical colleges: Southwest Georgia Technical College in Thomasville and Swainsboro Technical College in Swainsboro. Earlier positions include vice president of instructional services, director of curriculum and staff development, and drafting instructor.
Deibert holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University, a master of education in occupational studies, a bachelor of science in education from the University of Georgia, and a drafting and design technology diploma from Southwest Georgia Technical College.
