Chatham County to address overgrown grass and litter problems

UGA’s Samantha Joye in the news again on Gulf oil spill
Joye has organized the first team of scientists to investigate a new spill — a July 22 disaster when a natural gas well rig called Hercules went out of control, then burst into fire a day later and began spewing methane into shallow Gulf of Mexico waters 55 miles off the coast of Louisiana.

Department of Natural Resources puts bass in Lake Allatoona
This summer, the department began a three-year study on the effectiveness of stocking the lake with largemouth bass. Approximately 250,000 fingerlings and several thousand larger bass are planned to be stocked into the lake by the end of the experiment in 2015.

Four men tackle Appalachian Trail over 17 years
